CHAOUWARA

Memory of Colour and Craft

The work immediately catches the eye with its reference to the famous Moroccan tanneries, iconic places where ancient round vats hold the most intense colours of the artisan tradition. The grid of coloured circles evokes the dye vats arranged in orderly rows, each with its own chromatic identity and story.

The glossy black surrounding the composition amplifies the contrast and saturation of the colours, as if they emerged from the pulsing heart of matter. The frame, with white modules and regular graphic signs, encloses and ennobles the scene, turning it into a contemporary mosaic. The artisan workplace is thus elevated to a universal visual symbol, where ancient knowledge meets geometric abstraction and becomes art.
