«Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working.»
Pablo Picasso
Claudio Dominici came to art out of a deep desire to express himself through form and colour. Over the course of his experience he has developed an expressive language impossible to classify: paintings, objects, design furniture, works of great complexity in both decoration and size, reaching a fully rounded artistic maturity.
His is true “thinking outside the box”, a nonconformism that refers not so much to the rejection of rules as to overcoming conventions and to the possibility of making everything around us expressive, from lamps to mirrors to furniture, all the way to paintings.
In his expressiveness lies the conviction that everything can be art and everything can be used to become art. The materials are often recycled: once assembled and coloured they take on new life, become unrecognisable until they turn into part of something else, a work of art. Everything can be experimented with and everything, even what seems to have no use, can live and breathe again.
The explosion of spring colours, the sounds of the forest, the escape from patterns, the smell of the tanneries in Morocco, the preciousness of gold: every painting is a unique, unrepeatable piece, made of specific material treated according to the inspiration of the moment. Every painting is an invitation to a journey.
